Land Acknowledgement: Peguis First Nation is located on Treaty 1 and Treaty 2 territory in the Interlake region of Manitoba. The Peguis people are Anishinaabe (Saulteaux) and have lived in the region of Lake Winnipeg and the Red River for generations.

The largest First Nation in Manitoba by membership, Peguis First Nation is located in the Interlake region north of Winnipeg. The community is named after Chief Peguis, a historic leader who welcomed the first Selkirk settlers.
